Netflix May Have Leaked 'Squid Game' Season 3 Release Date

Netflix has confirmed that Squid Game Season 3 is arriving in 2025, but a recent slip-up by Netflix Korea may have revealed the exact date: June 27, 2025.

The accidental leak, via a briefly live promotional video, has sparked excitement among fans eager to return to the dystopian death games.

The turnaround for this new season is notably quick. Unlike the three-year wait between Seasons 1 and 2, the gap between Seasons 2 and 3 is a mere six months. However, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed this is less a traditional "Season 3" and more the second half of a massive 14-episode arc envisioned as one cohesive story.

A Deeper Dive into Gi-hun's Journey

Hwang explained that he initially planned Seasons 2 and 3 as one storyline, showcasing Gi-hun's return to the games and eventual revolt. However, the narrative became too expansive, leading to a split. The first half focuses on Gi-hun’s climactic failure and personal loss, while the second half will explore the aftermath and resolution of these events.

Why the Rush?

Netflix seems eager to capitalize on Squid Game’s momentum and resolve cliffhangers quickly. Additionally, the platform aims to reserve the latter half of 2025 for two other blockbusters: the final season of Stranger Things and the second season of Wednesday.

With these juggernauts aligning, 2025 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Netflix—and for fans who can’t wait to binge their favorite shows.

Stay tuned for official updates, but for now, mark your calendars for June 27, 2025!
