Kuwait Launches Online Registration System for Hajj Season

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Kuwait has announced that electronic registration for the upcoming Hajj season will be open from November 3 to November 17 through a dedicated online platform.

Mohammed Al Saidi, acting director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, highlighted that the new centralized registration system has successfully reduced participation costs by 40%, making the pilgrimage more affordable, especially for low-income individuals. The system also introduces age group classifications, allowing participants of all ages to perform the Hajj, with a total of 8,000 spots available for Kuwaiti pilgrims.

The registration guidelines stipulate that applicants should not have previously performed Hajj. Group registrations of up to three related individuals are permitted, and a resident or a companion of any nationality can be included, provided they are related to the applicant.

Al Saidi explained that the registration targets two distinct groups: Kuwaitis and Bedoon (stateless individuals), with each group being considered separately. After registration closes on November 17, screening will begin immediately, with admissions processed according to age categories, ensuring balanced representation across all age demographics.

The age groups are divided as follows: those 60 years and older, those between 35 and 59, and those 34 years and younger. Admission rates will depend on the number of applicants in each category relative to the 8,000 pilgrim quota allocated to Kuwait by Saudi authorities.

Once selected, pilgrims will receive a link providing details about Kuwaiti Hajj campaigns, including available services and pricing options. This will allow them to choose the package that best suits their needs. Pilgrims must then register with their chosen campaign and pay a deposit of 750 dinars, with a five-day grace period for registration.
