Kuwait Announced New Salary Standards for Expats’ Dependent Visas

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior has introduced revisions to the application procedures for dependent visas. These changes, outlined in Ministerial Resolution No. (56 of 2024), bring forth updated conditions and regulations governing the issuance of visas for family members.

Revised Criteria for Visa Applicants

Salary Cap Increase

Effective this Sunday, January 28, 2024, individuals seeking to reunite with their families must meet specific criteria. Notably, the salary cap for eligibility has been raised to 800 dinars. This adjustment aims to ensure that applicants have a stable financial foundation to support their dependents.

Educational Requirements

In addition to the financial criteria, applicants are now required to hold a university degree. This educational requirement emphasizes the importance of academic qualifications in the visa application process.

Occupational Alignment

To further streamline the visa issuance process, applicants must ensure that their occupational field aligns with their academic qualifications. This alignment is introduced to establish a more cohesive and standardized approach to the issuance of dependent or family visas.

Enhancing Visa Issuance Process

The revisions to the dependent visa procedures are designed to enhance the overall visa issuance process. By setting specific standards, the Ministry of Interior aims to ensure that applicants meet essential criteria before applying for a dependent or family visa. These measures are aligned with the ministry's commitment to promoting responsible and sustainable reunification of families.
