UAE Sharia court to meet tomorrow to announce Ramadan 2022

All of the sharia courts around the UAE will provide the moon sighting committee in Abu Dhabi with photographic evidence of the crescent sighting from their emirate.

On Friday, 1st of April, the 29th of Shaaban, the UAE’s moon-sighting committee shall meet after Maghreb prayer at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department; they shall discuss and announce the start of the holy month of Ramadan; when it is decided, the committee will announce the news to the whole of the UAE.

Abdullah Sultan Bin Awad Al Nuami, Minister of Justice, shall attend the meeting; many other senior officials with power shall also participate in the meeting.

The many Sharjah courts will follow up and confirm if there are sightings of the crescent; the Sharjah courts are nationwide. In the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, the Lunar Calendar Committee will collect evidence and work with the moon-sighting committee to ensure a holy Ramadan.
