Tickets are now available for the second edition of the Qatar Foundation's D'reesha Performing Arts Festival, which will take place from December 11–17, 2022, in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup Qatar, and will honor Qatar's rich culture, legacy, and traditions.

Everybody is welcome, and day permits to the festival and all of its performances cost QR35 for kids aged 3 to 11, QR50 for kids aged 12 and up, and children under 3 are admitted free. Virgin Megastore offers both online and in-store ticket sales.

The festival's theme this year is "Travel and Adventure," which was inspired by the traveler Ibn Battuta. It will feature a range of performances in Arabic and English, including theater, visual arts, music, and poetry.

"Through this strategic cooperation, the Ministry of Social Development and Family intends to enhance the conception of Qatari people as being productive, to convert the culture of consumption to one of innovation and creativity," said H.E. Mariam Al Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family.

H.E. Al Misnad added "At the Ministry of Social Development and Family, we are constantly eager to help successful families as well as to boost their presence and productivity in the community. Due to the fact that D'reesha is a cultural event that will bring various facets of society together in support of Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022, participating in the festival will give them the chance to demonstrate their efforts and deepen their integration into national events in Qatar.

The festival's main shows include RUMI: The Musical, Ajyal Tunes, and Ibn Battuta, which feature local performers, QF students, and festival attendees. Additional cultural performances at the festival will come from Qatar and other countries like Morocco, Senegal, Turkey, and Greece.

As part of D'reesha of Invention, which is sponsored by ConocoPhillips Qatar and features scientists, academics, and researchers from the Arab world, STEM shows and workshops will also be held during the festival.

Al Khater House will host the Poetry Majlis, traditional games, and movie screenings, along with merchandise and the return of Torba Farmers Market. Local heritage will also play a significant role in the event.

Several writers, including Rawdah AlHajj and Anas Al Dogheim, will read poetry on Palestine at the festival, while Dalal Abu Amneh will provide a musical, artistic, and scientific presentation of the history of the Arab and Islamic worlds.

"The D'reesha Performing Arts Festival is an opportunity for us to share Qatar's rich cultural legacy with guests from around the world, as well as foster global dialogue and involve our local community," stated Mayan M. Zebeib, Chief Communications Officer at Qatar Foundation.

M. Zebeib  added, "We hope that our guests will enjoy experiencing the performing arts in this distinctive way, with D'reesha of Invention concentrating on STEM and interactive workshops and performances of music, poetry, and the visual arts taking place throughout the festival."

"The D'reesha Performing Arts Festival is a space for cultural exchange between people, and the significance of this year's edition of the festival is that it coincides with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, allowing visitors to Qatar from different cultural backgrounds to discover Qatari heritage and culture," said Dr. Ghanem Bin Mubarak Al Ali, Cultural Advisor at the Ministry of Culture.
