Stormzy Broke Up with Maya Jama

British rapper Stormzy and his girlfriend Maya Jama, Love Island presenter, announced on Wednesday, Jul. 17 that they have broken up. 

The couple split after a nine-year-long relationship and they shared the news on their Instagram.

In the statement, Stormzy shares how he got together with Maya Jama in 2014, but broke up in 2019. The celebrities spent five years apart before giving their relationship a last shot in August 2023. 

The rapper reasoned, "We tried, and it didn't work, and that's okay."

Both celebrities put forth a request in the statement, "We're kindly asking for the grace to let both of us keep it moving and not be bothered about it (we highly doubt this'll work, but we're still kindly asking anyway)."

The couple were last seen together at the 2024 British Grand Prix.
