Ministry of Education Sets Ramadan Working Hours

Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Anwar Al-Hamdan, has announced the official working hours for the holy month of Ramadan. The decision outlines the flexible working hours system adopted by the ministry.

Working Hour Details

According to the circular issued by Al-Hamdan, the working hours for various sectors within the ministry have been outlined. Offices of the minister, undersecretary, and public relations will operate from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, while the financial, legal, and administrative sectors will function from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Duration and Grace Period

During Ramadan, employees will work for four and a half hours per day from Sunday to Thursday. Additionally, a grace period of 15 minutes will be provided at the beginning and end of the workday, ensuring a smooth transition for all employees, with an extra 15 minutes allocated before the end of the day for female employees.

Sector-Specific Working Hours

The Financial Affairs, Legal Affairs, and Administrative Affairs sectors and their departments will operate from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. Meanwhile, other sectors such as Private and Special Education, Information Systems, Educational Research and Curricula, Educational Development, Educational Facilities and Planning, Public Education, and Educational Districts General Department will function from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Uniformity in Office Timings

Consistent with the flexible system, the Office of the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research; Public Relations and Educational Media Department; National Commission for Education, Science and Culture; Supreme Council for Education; and Office of the Undersecretary will observe the working hours from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm during Ramadan.
