The Mahsaeel festival, which means 'harvest' in Arabic, is an annual event held in Qatar with the goal of promoting the local industry. Mahaseel markets will continue to welcome visitors on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays every week until mid-May, due to a large turnout of visitors and customers.

At any given moment, visitors can explore more than 25 stalls and sample a wide range of items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, many types of plants and bright flowers, as well as honey, dates, and dairy products.

The festival, which was organized in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, attracted 38 firms involved in the food sector and agricultural production.

Every year, local farmers and food producers make use of this opportunity to gain tourists' trust by displaying their products or by demonstrating their abundance and conformance to quality requirements.

Various farm owners and national company supervisors have expressed their delight at being able to participate in the Mahaseel Festival for the sixth year in a row, hailing the festival's excellent success.

"The 2022 crops saw a heavy turnout and interaction from Qatari farms, companies, and food factories," said Mr. Salman Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Mahaseel Festival's Organising Committee, adding that "the festival's tireless efforts to achieve food security and self-sufficiency contribute to the realization of Qatar's National Vision 2030."

The sixth Mahaseel Festival's visitors commended the festival's relevance in presenting the greatest fresh agricultural and animal goods provided by local businesses.

One of the exhibitors told QNA about the great opportunity for home farmers to locate all kinds of seasonal flowers and seedlings in all shapes, varieties, and sizes, as well as get advice on how to plant and care for plants.

Mr. Hamad Al-Saleh, one of the festival's attendees, told QNA that he looks forward to the festival's inauguration every year because he wants to take advantage of the flower seedlings on sale. The festival features a variety of seeds, including roses and beautiful plants like potts, cactus, and chrysanthemums, as well as fruit trees like lemon trees, guava trees, and other plants that flourish in Qatar's climate.

The southern section of the country is still open to visitors during weekends.

In the past year, 51 new Mahaseel local outlets have opened in Qatar, bringing the total number of Mahaseel local outlets to 95.
