Kuwait Fire Kills 50, 46 Indians Among Victims

In a devastating incident in Kuwait’s Ahmadi Governorate, a fire in Mangaf claimed 50 lives, including 46 Indians. The blaze, caused by an electrical short circuit in a guard’s room, engulfed a six-story building housing 196 migrant workers.

Authorities have detained a Kuwaiti national, three Indians, and four Egyptians on charges of manslaughter and negligence, according to the Arab Times. The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has announced $15,000 (Rs 12.5 lakh) compensation for each victim's family. An investigation aims to uncover the fire's cause. Embassies are expediting compensation to victims' families. The tragedy also claimed three Filipino lives, with one victim's identity still unknown.
