Here are all the important details for Comfest 2023
Enjoy three days of epic pop-culture events at Comfest 2023, from February 23rd to 25th at The Arena Kuwait 360 Mall, where Jamie Campbell Bower and Elizabeth Olsen will be headlining the annual event.
What is Comfest?
Comfest is a pop culture festival where visitors get the chance to meet their favourite celebrities and engage in activities related to comic art, cosplay, and video games. The festival hosts more than 50 exhibitors that offer a variety of cool things ranging from comic book art to VR experiences.
Here are the celebrities and key events that you do not want to miss at Comfest 2023:
Jamie Campbell Bower

Globally renowned for his villainous role of Vecna in Netflix’s Stranger Things, Jamie Campbell Bower will be meeting fans, signing autographs, and taking pictures at Comfest.
The English actor has featured in other notable projects including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, The Twilight Saga, The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen is internationally renowned for her role as Wanda Maximoff or Scarlet Witch in the Avengers franchise and in the miniseries WandaVision. Her role in the miniseries has not only garnered her worldwide admiration but also nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She will be at the Comfest meeting fans and signing autographs.
Cosplay Contest
Anime lovers, film geeks, and TV series bingers get a chance to dress up as their favourite characters and perform in the Cosplay Contest. The rules are that all entries must be teams of two and each team’s performance should adhere to the performance time limit of three minutes and thirty seconds maximum. The prizes are:
1st Place $1000 + Represent Kuwait in Korea
2nd Place $600
3rd Place $300

The judges are going to be Danny Choi who is the head of @komacon_bicof and @gicof_official. Alongside him, cosplayers @tomiaa from South Korea, @greeniicosplay from Kuwait, and @hazeofflames also from Kuwait will make up the panel.
Valorant Tournament
Fans of the Valorant video game get to battle it out at the Valorant tournament at Comfest 2023 and get the chance to win from the $3,000 prize pool.

Drawing Contest
All artists get a chance to polish up their skills at this drawing contest. The art piece can be either digital or normal. Entrants have to create a Kuwaiti-themed superhero and submit their entries as printed on A3 size paper during the 1st or 2nd day of the festival at the @enlitedco @starbase16 booth. Prizes include:
Digital: 1st Place: $300; 2nd Place: $150
Normal: 1st Place: $300; 2nd Place: $150
Voice Acting Challenge
This challenge is for aspiring voice artists as well as people who practice voice acting as a hobby. The competition is a good chance for people to recreate their favourite scenes from their favourite anime, movies, or TV shows. People who are interested can register on the first day of Comfest, which is February 23rd and the entrant’s audio clip has to be maximum 2 minutes long. Prizes include:
1st Place: KD 100
2nd Place: KD 50
Other events
Other events include a Tekken 7 Competition, Beat Saber competition, and Hang Time competition.

A one-day pass is for KD 10 while a three-day pass is for KD 25. Tickets can be booked here.
Free entry will be given to people with special needs, children under 6 years, and cosplayers. Cosplayers' following details need to be submitted to @kuwaitcosplayclub: name, character, and recent picture of cosplay.
