The globally recorded hottest day was Jul. 4 with the average global temperature reaching 17.18°C, according to the US government's National Center for Environmental Prediction.
This temperature has exceeded beyond previously recorded highest global average temperature, which was 16.92°C on Jul. 24, 2022.
Climate experts attributed this temperature to climate change and the emergence of the El Nino weather pattern, which occurs every two to seven years because of the wind patterns in the Pacific Ocean.
Dr. Robert Rhobe from Berkley Earth, a non-profit organization, expects this record to be broken again in the coming months.
The World Meteorological Center has predicted that 2024 will very likely be like 2016, which is the hottest year on record.
Temperatures in North Africa increased to 50°C and in the Antarctic region, the Vernadsky station broke its July temperature record with 8.7°C.
