WhatsApp is adding a new feature that allows users to silently exit groups, in an attempt to make the messaging system more user-friendly.
According to WABetaInfo, only group admins will be able to see who is leaving the group and others won't be able to find out. This feature is in development, so it's not ready to roll out to beta testers.
Currently, users are shown exiting the group, and WhatsApp usually adds a system message in the chat group to inform all participants that you have exited the group.
The site also mentioned that WhatsApp is developing another new feature, which is displaying the list of previous users in groups. WABetaInfo has posted a screenshot with a new option that appears below the group's participants list in a future update, letting people view who was in the group in the past.
Unfortunately, this list will be visible to everyone in the group, not just group admins, but it will likely change how the feature works before release, according to WABetaInfo.
