COMFEST hosted a pop-up this weekend, featuring some big pop culture stars including Stranger Things' Dacre Montgomery, however, some visitors were not satisfied with the experience.
A netizen complained about the pricey tickets saying, "The entrance was 10KD which is hella expensive for just entering."
Another netizen wrote, "It was okay considering it was only a pop-up convention and not a full one, but that makes the full ticket price of 10KD even more ridiculous."
She also wrote, "Convention organizers have to come to terms with how prohibitive their entry prices are...Local pop culture conventions have always been a money grab and I haven’t seen that change in the past decade."

COMEST is the only pop culture convention hosted in Kuwait annually, including the event's pop-ups, so the organizers need to reconsider ticketing prices for these events because high prices might dissuade pop culture enthusiasts in the country from attending the event and decrease the popularity of this event altogether.
The pop-up featured opportunities to get autographs and take pictures with your favorite anime and pop culture celebrities as well as vendors selling cool collectibles.
The high price for entry tickets might now allow visitors to enjoy the activities and programs at the pop-ups or the conventions, therefore organizers need to reconsider the prices to create a better experience for the visitors.
