Due to a spike in global crude oil prices, notably following the Russia-Ukraine war in February, petrol prices in the UAE have risen by almost 56% since January 2022.
On Tuesday, the UAE raised the price of Super 98 gasoline by more than 13% to Dh4.15 per litre in June, up from Dh3.66 in May, while the price of Special 95 has increased by 13.5 percent, from Dh3.55 to Dh4.03. In June, E-Plus 91 would cost Dh3.96 per litre, up from Dh3.48 last month, a 13.8 percent increase.

UAE folks spend their last 30min of May stuck in front of a fuel station to pay the June prices at 12am. Dedication ✨

The funniest habit we’ve developed this year is my friends calling me almost every month when the new (higher) fuel prices are out, telling me to head to the nearest petrol station and refuel before the new month begins.
