Heavy reservations in the UAE were confirmed, indicating high occupancy rates in hotels, reaching 95% during the fourth quarter, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, driven by many major events, including exhibitions and conferences, the National Day holiday, as well as the FIFA World Cup and the holiday season, which witnesses large numbers of visitors in the UAE.
The demand extends beyond hotel rooms to reach restaurants, ballrooms, events, and indoor and outdoor areas of hotels.
The presidents and CEOs of major hotels in the Emirates, including the Rotana Hotel, expect a remarkable boom in the hotel sector in the coming period, especially as the travel sector is witnessing a remarkable boom in the region, with expectations of a large influx of travelers booking daily flights to attend matches, and choosing to stay for longer periods to explore the country before or even after matches.
