Tunis Street has been reopened again for vehicular traffic in direction of Hawally at its intersection with the Fourth Ring Road after a month of closure.
This means that the barriers leading to the street have been removed.
The closure of the road on July 3rd was necessary to maintain the road.
In March, Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works announced that it has set aside 250 million Kuwaiti Dinars (about $830 million) for country road repair. The initiative is an extension of the government's initiatives to upgrade the nation's infrastructure and transportation services.
The funds, according to the ministry, will be invested in bridge, tunnel, and highway repairs and maintenance on the current road system. New safety measures, such as installing streetlights and constructing pedestrian crossings, will also be put into place as part of the project.
