The UAE Secures 40% of Japan's Oil Imports Last October

Japan's oil imports from the UAE amounted to 33.93 million barrels, or 40.1% of total imports in October 2022, ranking first among oil suppliers to Japan, according to data from the Natural Resources and Energy Agency of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
During last October, Japan imported 84.58 million barrels, of which the share of Arab oil was 94.7%, or 80.10 million barrels, coming from 5 Arab countries: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman.
The rest of the imports came from Central and South America 0.8%, Southeast Asia 0.8%, Africa 0.6%, and Oceania 0.3% of the total in October.
The aforementioned figures represent the quantities of oil that reached refineries, tanks, and warehouses in ports in Japan during October 2022, in addition, Japan uses oil to generate about a third of its energy needs.
