Oman was defeated by Australia in the group stage match by 39 runs at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados on Thursday, Jun. 6.

Australia batted first and scored 164 runs in 20 overs with David Warner scoring 56 runs and Marcus Stoinis scoring 67 runs.

When Australia bowled, Stoinis helped restrict Oman to 125/9 as he secured three wickets.

Mitchell Starc struck Oman's Pratik Athavale with a yorker, which hit Athavale's pad.

Although the umpire initially denied Starc's appeal for a wicket, the replays showed that the bowl would have hit the base of the batter's middle stumps. The Australian bowler secured another wicket as well.

Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa also secured two wickets, which helped their team win the match.

Oman's next group-stage match is against Scotland on Sunday, Jun. 9.
