Temperatures in Kuwait are expected to drop below freezing point in the second half of January 2023, according to climate expert Bader Al-Amira.
“The second half of January will witness the appearance of Al-Shoula star or the tail of the scorpion, which will last for 13 days, pointing out that “after the end of Al-Murabaaniyyah, we will enter the second season, which is Al-Azreq, which is considered the coldest day of the year and is called by the Eastern Arabs (Mubki Al-Husni),” Al-Amira told Al-Qabas newspaper.

“Temperatures in the rest of Kuwait’s coastal and residential areas will experience lows ranging between 3-7 Celsius during late night hours, with highs around 14 degrees Celsius,” he continued.
Al-Amira, who is a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, also highlighted the importance of keeping young children and older people indoors as much as possible to avoid strong cold and flu attacks.
