A paramedic in Kuwait City was arrested in an undercover operation for selling narcotic pills near Amiri Hospital. The sting, organized by the Capital Investigations Department, targeted the man after a tip-off about his illegal activities.
Social Media Used to Target Women
The suspect was found to be using social media to sell drugs, focusing particularly on women. Investigators set up a decoy operation, where a female undercover officer contacted the man to arrange a purchase of five pills near the hospital.
1,500 Pills Discovered in Apartment
After his arrest, authorities searched the paramedic's apartment in Salmiya and uncovered 1,500 pills, including Lyrica and Tramadol. These psychotropic substances were being trafficked illegally, leading to his referral to the Public Prosecution.
Financial Struggles Drove Him to Drug Trafficking
During interrogation, the paramedic confessed to engaging in the illegal trade for over a year. He cited financial difficulties, blaming his insufficient salary as the reason for turning to drug dealing. His travels to Europe were linked to sourcing the narcotics.
Further Investigations Underway
Authorities are continuing their investigation, with plans to summon individuals connected to the paramedic through financial transactions. These associates are believed to have played a role in his drug trafficking operations.
