Kuwait's Ministry of Water, Electricity, and Renewable Energy stated on Monday, Aug. 19 that electrical generating units at some power stations and water desalination plants would resume operation after the power cuts on Sunday.
Over the past two days, gas supply issues had caused malfunctions affecting several electrical generating units.
The power cuts impacted 42 areas Rabia, Fahaheel, Mahboula, Salmiya, and many others.
The gas supply issues were caused by unusually high temperatures, which increased the strain on the power system.
On Monday, the ministry requested the public to conserve electricity between peak hours, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
