The Princess Catherine of Wales has revealed that she has completed her chemotherapy and is eager to return to her royal duties.
Princess Kate shared the news in a personal statement, which was published by Kensington Palace on Monday, Sep. 9.
The news has come less than six months after her diagnosis was revealed to the public.
The statement read, "As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."
Although the Princess has finished her chemotherapy, she emphasized that she will currently focus on full recovery and only engage in a "light program" of public events.
The Princess also said, "William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone's kindness, empathy and compassion have been truly humbling."
The statement was accompanied by videos and photos of Princess Kate with her husband, Prince William, and their three children.
During her treatment, Princess Kate mostly remained out of the public eye, however in July, she made a public appearance at the 2024 Wimbledon championship where she was welcomed with a standing ovation.
