Kuwait's Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training to mandate practical and technical tests for skilled employees in Kuwait.
According to the news sources, these tests will be mandatory for employees getting new work permits in Kuwait and also for employees renewing their work permits in the country.
Employees have to pass these tests for their iqama renewal and failure to take the test will be considered as a violation of the regulation.
The test will be launched in phases for different professions, based on priority.
The first sector that will be subjected to the implementation of these tests will be the contracting sector to ensure that highly-skilled employees are hired in respective fields.
