On the World Art Day: Fine Artists Review Qatar's Experience in Creativity and Identity Consolidation
The creative experience of Qatar combines the goals of creativity and the consolidation of identity and culture of the community, a number of artists and academics assert that strengthening the bonds of relationship between artists and society is achieved through the state's sponsorship of artists, supporting and encouraging them to hold art exhibitions.

In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the World Art Day, which falls on the 15th of April of each year and which is celebrated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) today, the artists affirmed Art in Qatar has evolved to express new artistic methods that reflect an advanced stage in artistic trends that keep pace with international experiences in art.
UNESCO celebrates World Art Day with the aim of promoting, developing, disseminating and enjoying the artistic process, The International Art Day is an opportunity to learn about the issue of arts education in schools, believing in the pivotal role of culture.
Artist Huda Al-Yafei, Director of the Center of Visual Arts at the Ministry of Culture, said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that art is an educational tool that contributes to framing and educating members of society, as it contributes to the emergence of the individual and crystallizes his personality, and reflects the coherence between cultural values and behaviors inherited by generations.
On the role of the Visual Arts Center in achieving the link between artistic creativity and society, Al-Yafei explained that the center, since its inception in 1999, has concluded many cultural agreements and partnerships with international, regional, and local art institutions, which would spread artistic and cultural awareness in the community and activate the artistic movement and the various artistic experiences of artists. In her turn, Dr. Latifa Al Mughaisib, Head of the Art Education Department at Qatar University, said in her interview with Qena that art played an important role in documenting community events, including joys, adversities, achievements, victories, and challenges, and it is a universal language that everyone understands without the need for translation.
On the occasion of World Art Day, Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, sent a message to the international community, stressing the importance of art in society, and that art can unite human societies, and called in her message to support cultural and artistic professionals and develop a cultural policy aimed at facing challenges Facing artists, especially in light of the current crises.
