The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a decision that cancelled the requirement of having an office to acquire a business license if they do not have employees.
The decision also exempts business owners from paying rent, which was previously paid to secure the business licence.
The new decision instead requires a business owner to apply for a license with a home address.
The Ministry's decision hopes to inhibit the activity of fraudulent office rent brokers and stop dealings with these brokers.
Before the implementation of this new regulation, people would rent office spaces in cheap neighbourhoods, which they would never utilize or visit. These business owners still had to pay a lot for rental fees just to secure a business license.
The new regulation makes things easier for business owners who operate small-scale businesses from home and do not require office spaces.
