Norwegian football player Ole Saeter rejected an offer of $910,000 from the Israeli football club Maccabi Haifa.
The athlete cited strong moral objects, saying, "I don't want any blood money coming into my account. It would be a nightmare....It is a country that I have neither the morals nor the values to represent."
Saeter has previously shared pictures of himself wearing a T-shirt with a Pakistani flag, indicating his maternal ancestry, which makes him eligible to represent Pakistan.
In August, FIFA delayed its consideration of the Palestinian bid to have Israel suspended from international soccer because of the country's ongoing war in Gaza.
However, the football association is now ready to consider the Palestine Football Association's (PFA) proposals against the Israel Football Association (IFA) this October.
