'Mean Girls: The Musical' Will Release on This Date
Mean Girls fans will be over the moon when they find out that 'Mean Girls: The Musical' will be released on Jan. 12, 2024.
Paramount shared the news on Tuesday, Oct. 3 as well as the 'Mean Girls' Instagram page.
Although Paramount initially planned a Paramount+ release, the company is now set to release the film in cinemas.
The musical is based on Tina Fey and Mark Waters' iconic 2004 'Mean Girls' film, which starred Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Rachel McAdams.
'Spider-Man: Homecoming" actress Angouri Rice will fill Lohan's shoes as the protagonist of the film Cady Heron.
Reneé Rapp, who played Regine George in the Broadway production, will reprise her role in the musical.
The film will also feature Ashley Park from 'Emily in Paris' and 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' star Christopher Briney.
The latter will play Cady Heron's love interest, Aaron Samuels.
The musical is directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne, while the script is written by Tina Fey, who adapted it from the Broadway musical.
The trailer for the musical has yet to be released, so fans will be waiting in anticipation.
