Mask Reveals the New Checkmark Colors
It looks like Blue won't be the only one to check verified accounts on Twitter. Elon Musk, who acquired the famous platform in late October, revealed that the new plan to verify accounts of all kinds will begin within days.
He also added that the golden mark will be given to corporate accounts, while the gray color will be given to organizations, institutions, and government accounts, while the usual blue mark will be allocated to regular users (that is, individuals, whether they are celebrities or not).
He also indicated that the company will charge a fee of $8 per month for the "blue" verification mark service, at a time when the popular platform seeks to increase subscriptions and make the social network less dependent on ads.
The new owner of Twitter will remove the verification tag for existing users if they do not start paying for the product within 90 days.
It is noteworthy that the blue mark has been for many years a symbol and indication for users in order to distinguish official accounts, especially for celebrities, brands, and other influential accounts, from fake ones.
