A Kuwaiti fashion influencer, Fatima Almomen, involved in a car accident in Kuwait resulting in the deaths of two individuals, reportedly received a clean bill of health from a laboratory report, indicating no presence of drugs.
According to a source cited by Al-Arabiya, laboratory analysis has refuted social media claims, confirming the absence of drugs in Fatima Almomen's vehicle.
The fashion influencer ran a red light, resulting in a collision with another vehicle and the tragic demise of two passengers: Walid Jassim Muhammad Al-Mutairi and Yousef Badr Al-Kaami. The source clarified that reports of a third casualty were not accurate.
The accident caused a social media uproar in Kuwait after videos of it circulated and rumors spread that Almomen was driving under the influence.
Almomen faced a total of 10 charges, including manslaughter, causing accidental injury, excessive speeding, driving while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, disregarding a red traffic signal, driving without valid insurance, reckless driving, lacking a valid license, causing damage to public property, and damaging the property of others.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said it had been decided to “imprison Almomen for 10 days as a precautionary measure pending investigation, and to refer her to the Central Prison in preparation for her transfer to the competent court, and to release the vehicle driver’s escort.”
The Public Prosecution refused a request for bail.
