The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information announced that it has finalized designing an investment bid to establish a digital platform for the ministry that will broadcast content over the Internet.
The ministry's over-the-top (OTT) platform comes in line with its digital transformation plan, and its plan to maximize state revenues.
The ministry's official spokesperson, Anwar Murad, said that the bidding on the OTT would be held in the near future, without revealing a timeframe.
OTT is a means of providing television and film content over the internet at the request of the individual consumer through subscription.
Murad added that the platform would focus its content on promoting Kuwaiti culture through films, series, and documentaries.
The platform also aims to present historical radio programs, current and future television and radio programs, and provide video-on-demand service.
