Kuwait's Inflation Rises 3.15% in 2022

Kuwait's annual consumer price inflation grew by 3.15 percent in 2022, compared with 2021, the State of Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau showed in a report published by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Monthly consumer price inflation rose 0.17 percent in December, particularly on the back of the rise in food and education costs.
The price index of food and beverages increased by 7.48 percent year on year in December 2022, while the price index of cigarettes and tobacco went up slightly by 0.22 percent.
The consumer price index for clothes grew by 5.35 percent in December 2022 on an annual basis.
Restaurants and hotels' price index climbed by 3.51 percent on yearly basis in December 2022.
The transport index rose by 2.85 percent year on year in December 2022, while the health index climbed 2.63 percent.
The inflation rate in the furnishing equipment household grew by 1.69 percent, compared with December 2021, while housing services costs rose by 1.44 percent.
