The largest bisht in the world has a new Guinness World record in Kuwait. According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the magnificent garment, which measured 17 by 16 meters, exceeded the previous record of 17 by 9 meters held by Saudi Arabia.
The 48-day-long creation of the bisht was overseen by Al-Baghli Exhibition for the Bishout Industry. Owner of Al-Baghli Exhibition Riyad Al-Baghli was rewarded by Guinness-accredited arbitrator Kenzi Al-Dafrawi.
In the regional Arabic language, "bisht" refers to cloak. It is a mantle for men that was traditionally worn by Arabs hundreds of years ago. Royal Families, politicians, and religious scholars usually wore the traditional garment, Bisht on special occasions.
