The Kuwaiti government has announced the reinstatement of work visas for foreign nationals filling temporary roles under government contracts that last no longer than one year.

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior recently shared the news via its official X account, stating that the decision aims to enhance flexibility while ensuring that short-term projects are completed efficiently. The reopening of work visas is specifically for government projects with a duration of up to one year, indicating that these visas are not intended for long-term residency.

Temporary Visas for Short Term Projects

The Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait will handle applications for these work visas. The ministry reassured that this initiative targets skilled foreign workers needed to fulfill temporary duties, which will help the government meet its workforce requirements.

Ongoing Changes for Foreign Workers

This update is part of a broader effort by the Kuwaiti government to adjust policies related to foreign workers. Other modifications to work visa regulations have already been made this year, reflecting the country’s commitment to addressing labor needs while maintaining control over its workforce.
