Kuwait Reappoints Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah as Prime Minister

His Highness Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has re-appointed Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah as prime minister more than a month after the government resigned.
The crown prince asked Sheikh Ahmad to nominate a cabinet, state news agency KUNA reported.
The government resigned in January after only 100 days in office, which marked Kuwait’s fifth collective government resignation in two years.
In a statement post-cabinet session back then, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Barrak Al-Shaitan said that the resignation was due to a deadlock reached on various issues with the legislative authority during the first session of the National Assembly’s 17th legislative term.
