Kuwait is paving the way in airport, seaport, and land port security by implementing a comprehensive biometric system at entry and exit points.

This innovative project has now become fully operational.

The Directorate General of Ports of the Ministry of Interior has started implementing the decision to take the decimal fingerprint of all those coming to the Gulf country through the air, land, and sea border crossings.

The Criminal Evidence Department has finished installing automatic fingerprint devices at all border crossings, coming into effect as of Friday, informed security sources told Al-Jarida.

Also, the Information Systems Department has helped to link the devices to the Information Systems Center at the Ministry of Interior.

The new biometric system collects multiple types of biometric data, including hand and palm prints, facial images, iris scans, and electronic signatures.
