Kuwait saw a 16 percent year-on-year increase in the total passenger traffic to and from Kuwait International Airport in July 2023, Deputy Director-General for Air Navigation Affairs at Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Emad Al-Jalawi, told state-run KUNA.
Kuwait welcomed 640,458 passengers during the last month, while the departing passengers reached 806,232 passengers, Al-Jalawi added.
He also added that the total number of transit passengers at the airport reached 166,465 passengers in July, an increase of 75 percent from July 2022.
Moreover, Kuwait International Airport witnessed an increase in aircraft traffic by 23 percent in July, with the total movement of aircraft operated to and from the airport amounting to 12,468 flights.
The most popular destinations during July were Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul/Sabiha, Doha, and Jeddah, Al-Jalawi said.
