The announcement came on Sunday, with Minister Mohammad Al-Wasmi highlighting the efficiency and fairness of the process.
Transparent Registration Process
Minister Al-Wasmi emphasized that the registration for the 1446 Hijri Hajj season was conducted with utmost care and transparency. Categories, sects, and age groups were all considered to ensure inclusivity and fairness. Specific regulations and criteria were set by the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Committee to streamline the selection process and maintain high standards.
Prioritizing Older Pilgrims
Sattam Al-Muzain, Director of the Hajj and Umrah Department, explained that the selection process prioritized older applicants and their companions. The system assigned percentages to different categories to ensure a balanced representation.

Selected pilgrims were notified through text messages and the government’s Sahel app. They now have five days to complete their registration; otherwise, the opportunity will pass to the next eligible candidates.
