The Air Cargo Customs Department at the Kuwait International Airport must grant approval one day before departure for citizens and residents taking gold bars on international flights from Kuwait.
In order to complete the journey without complexity, it is necessary to provide proof of ownership of the gold bars. Upon arrival at the destination airport, the traveler should present the documentation to the customs inspectors.
In a statement about the quantity limit, the source stated that any gold bars or coins, no matter how big or small, must be disclosed and a statement obtained, as they are not artifacts or jewelry for personal use.
Since the bars are recognized to be a method of converting money into gold, they must be submitted to an audit to guarantee evidence of the traveler's ownership of the gold and protection of travelers, both citizens and residents.
According to the source, all travelers entering or leaving Kuwait must acknowledge and declare any currencies, bearer-negotiable financial instruments, precious metals, or precious stones convertible into cash that exceed the permitted amount.
