This step came under the directives of Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Sheikh Talal Khaled Al Ahmad Al Sabah.
The Kuwait Visa app aims to regulate the entry of workers into Kuwait, avoid forgery, and fight visa trafficking.
The app also aims to limit the entry of those with criminal records and wanted by courts.
However, the current entry procedures remain the same until the app is officially launched, after which expatriates would not be allowed to enter Kuwait without verification through the app.
The government has not disclosed the date when the app is officially launched.
The pilot launch of the app allows airlines, expatriates, and staff at Kuwaiti embassies to verify the validity of entrance visas for expatriate workers.
