Kuwait Announces Government Holiday for New Year


The Cabinet of Kuwait confirmed that all ministries, government agencies, public institutions, and bodies will be closed on January 1 and 2, 2025, for the New Year celebrations. This move aligns with the upcoming New Year festivities, providing citizens and government employees with a break to celebrate the occasion.
Holiday Dates and Work Resumption
The Cabinet clarified that Thursday, January 2, will be an official holiday, as it falls between two official days off. Normal work operations will resume on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Specialized Agencies to Set Own Schedules
The decision also outlined that government agencies with specialized functions will have the flexibility to set their own holiday schedules. These arrangements will be in line with instructions from the relevant authorities, ensuring that the public interest remains a priority during the holiday period.
