Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are teaming up to build a high-speed railway that will make trips between the two countries quicker and easier. This exciting project just got the green light and is set to roll out by 2026.
Design Phase Kicking Off Soon
The first step? Launching the initial design phase. International companies will soon be invited to help get things started. Construction is expected to kick off in 2026.
Zip Between Cities in No Time
Imagine traveling between Kuwait and Riyadh in just one hour and 40 minutes! This new railway will cover 500 kilometers and is expected to carry 3,300 passengers every day with six round trips. Plus, ticket prices will be super affordable, making it a great alternative to flying or driving.
Government Fast-Tracking the Project
The project is on a fast track with a four-year completion plan. The Kuwaiti government is pushing for speedy progress, with regular updates to ensure everything stays on schedule. The railway will start from Kuwait’s Shaddadiyah area and extend all the way to Riyadh.
