Kuwait and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the Riyadh-held Global Cybersecurity Forum, aimed at enhancing knowledge transfer and experience sharing in the field of cybersecurity.

Kuwait was represented by Maj Gen Mohammad Bouarki, Head of the National Center for Cybersecurity, while Saudi Arabia was represented by Majed Al-Mazyad, the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA). The MoU underscores the importance of cooperation in countering cyberattacks.

Maj Gen Mohammad Bouarki emphasized the need to establish an effective cybersecurity system to safeguard countries from threats. He highlighted the significance of promoting a cybersecurity culture and the role of trained professionals in defending digital systems from cyber threats.

Bouarki stressed that cybersecurity is vital for preserving information security, preventing hacking attempts, and mitigating potential cyberattacks that could disrupt economies. He also commended the Global Cybersecurity Forum for fostering knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and international collaboration in cybersecurity, ultimately contributing to social and economic development in the field.

Bouarki expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia's National Cybersecurity Authority for hosting the forum, which has evolved into an international platform for harnessing expertise and benefiting from the insights of participants and specialists.
