The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned a recent massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces against displaced Palestinians in Khan Yunis, located in the southern Gaza Strip. In a statement released on Tuesday, Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the brutal targeting of defenseless civilians, including women and children, clear evidence that Israel is waging a war of extermination against the Palestinian people. Kuwait's condemnation highlights what they see as a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its calls to the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take immediate action to halt the violence in Gaza. Since October 2023, Gaza has faced relentless bombardment, leading to widespread destruction and loss of life. The ministry emphasized the urgency of international intervention to stop what it described as an extermination campaign by Israeli forces.

Saudi Arabia Echoes Kuwait’s Condemnation

Similarly, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned the Israeli attacks on Khan Yunis. According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these attacks resulted in civilian casualties, including one death and multiple injuries. Saudi Arabia expressed strong opposition to the ongoing violence, calling for an immediate ceasefire and holding Israeli forces accountable for violating international laws.

Saudi Arabia further stressed that the international community bears legal, humanitarian, and moral responsibility to put an end to the violence in Gaza. Their call for accountability is part of a broader effort to stop the ongoing bloodshed and restore peace in the region.

Kuwaiti Delegation Takes Action at Arab League

On the diplomatic front, a Kuwaiti delegation, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya, participated in the 162nd regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level. The meeting, held on Tuesday, addressed various issues concerning joint Arab efforts in political, economic, and social areas.

A key focus of the discussions was the ongoing crisis in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. The council explored strategies to enhance cooperation among Arab nations and international partners to address these challenges. The goal is to protect civilians, ensure humanitarian aid, and restore peace and security in the region.

The Tragic Situation in Gaza

The situation in Gaza continues to worsen as Israeli strikes target heavily populated areas. On Tuesday, an airstrike on a tent camp in Muwasi killed at least 19 Palestinians and injured 60. The camp, designated as a humanitarian zone, housed thousands of displaced Palestinians seeking shelter from the conflict. Israeli officials claimed the attack targeted Hamas militants, but the high civilian toll raises questions about the conduct of the operation.

As the Israel-Hamas conflict drags on, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate, with both Kuwait and Saudi Arabia pushing for urgent international intervention.
