On Sunday, Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works announced that it has set aside 250 million Kuwaiti Dinars (about $830 million) for country road repair.

The initiative is an extension of the government's initiatives to upgrade the nation's infrastructure and transportation services.

The funds, according to the ministry, will be invested in bridge, tunnel, and highway repairs and maintenance on the current road system. New safety measures, such as installing streetlights and constructing pedestrian crossings, will also be put into place as part of the project.

The announcement is part of a bigger initiative by the government to develop the nation's infrastructure and encourage economic expansion. The 2021–2022 state budget, with a 7.5% increase in expenditure over the previous year and an emphasis on economic and social growth, has been approved by Kuwait's National Assembly last month.
