Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has announced that the issuance of visit, family, and entry visas will be limited to specific categories until the National Assembly approves the new residency law.
Visit visas and other visas will be issued from April 2024.
Residents in Kuwait can expect new procedures to be announced for family reunion visas after the amendments are made to the previous policies.
Some unknown sources have explained that family reunion visas will be issued for children under sixteen, spouses, and parents and each visa will have varying fees.
The family reunion visa will not be issued for siblings of the resident in Kuwait.
Residency law violators have to complete certain procedures to regularize their status and continue their stay in Kuwait, according to the latest decision of the Ministry of Interior.
They have to obtain a 'no objection' certificate first, after which they have to pay a fine of KD 600, which will help them complete the renewal of their residency permits.
However, if this new regulation proves ineffective, residency law violators from before March 2020 will undergo the same procedures that were in place before the new law.
