There's no doubt that Emirati Women have proved to be capable and successful in all fields. They overcome all the challenges they face, whether they are social, cultural, or intellectual. Emirati women successfully broke the stereotypical image of Arab and khaleeji women by being part of various industries like film, fashion, sports, and Aviation.

Today we celebrate Emirati Women's Day which takes place every year on the 28th of August by shedding light on some of our favorite and inspiring Emirati Women that we think you should follow on Instagram. 

1. Amina Taher

Amina has truly left her mark in an industry that is usually associated with men. She is the only woman on the Etihad Aviation Group Board of Directors and holds the position of Vice President for Corporate Affairs.

2.  Manal al Hammadi

Manal Al Hammadi has been designing abayas for over a decade and recently announced some exciting collaborations with luxury brands such as Piaget and Chaumet. She is well known for her simple and creative designs that adopt different and distinct futuristic trends. Manal has become widely famous for introducing one-of-a-kind technology to the world of modest fashion. She designed abayas equipped with solar energy that would help in charging mobile phones, and she presented her idea at the Energy Summit in 2016.

3. Hala Al Gergawi

Hala Al Gergawi launched her website Tea Before Noon, which is a platform specialized in organizing fancy parties. Her main purpose was to help brands to get to know what interests and attracts Khaleeji women in all aspects. In addition, Hala pays great attention to charitable and volunteer work and participates in the initiatives of the Dubai Cares Foundation.

4. Noura Al Kaabi

Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi is the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development in the UAE in October 2017 and is now responsible for promoting cultural themes in the UAE at the local and global levels. She constantly strives to develop the artistic talents of young people.

5.  Zahra Lari

Zahra Lari was the first woman to participate in a world championship wearing the hijab and was representing UAE in the World Figure Skating Federation, all this while she was only twenty-four years old. She was also the first Emirati player to represent the UAE at the Winter Universiade 2019 in Russia.

6. Latifa Al Shamsi

Latifa Al Shamsi has always been an active user of Instagram, even before the emergence of social media influencers. She shares with her followers all her favorite fashion styles, restaurants, travel destinations, and most importantly her life as a mother. which makes her one of the most widely followed Emirati influencers. 

7. Huda Al Nuaimi

Fashion designer Huda Al Nuaimi owns one of the most distinguished fashion brands and excels in designing accessories with a bold and out-of-the-ordinary feel. She focuses on soft fashion designs from the finest fabrics. The latest accessories she presented indicate her love for her country, the UAE, as she created accessories in the shapes of the UAE flag, the falcon, and the map of the UAE in her designs or bags.

8. Hamda Al Fahim

Emirati designer, Hamda Al Fahim, started her journey in fashion design in Abu Dhabi. She succeeded in leaving an outstanding mark with every collection she created. Her designs are known for their intricate, feminine, and stylish vibe. 

9. Nayla Al Khaja


 

Nayla Al Khaja is the first Emirati film director and producer who made her profession a means to empower and support women. She never hesitates to discuss sensitive social issues in the films she directs and produces, such as child exploitation, traditionally arranged marriage, and other topics, and she has won many important awards in recognition of her creativity.
