According to a Friday statement from Bucharest's Court of Appeals, controversial internet influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been freed from house arrest in Romania as they prepare for their upcoming trial on allegations of rape and human trafficking.

According to a court statement, the Tate brothers and their two female accomplices from Romania were taken off house arrest and placed under judicial supervision for 60 days between August 4th and October 2nd.

The accused were held under house arrest while a criminal investigation into allegations of abuse against seven women was underway.

Andrew Ttes spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, said in a statement that he will not be allowed to be “in close proximity with any of the other defendants, any of the witnesses, or any of the alleged victims and their immediate family.”

“This positive outcome gives us confidence that more favorable developments are on the horizon,” Petrescu further added.

In December 2022, Tate was initially apprehended in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. He and his brother were then held in police custody until March.

While his brother Tristan has been charged with promoting others to violence, Andrew Tate has also been charged with raping one of the victims.
