Kuwaiti prosecutors are investigating the death of a Filipina maid who was allegedly killed by an Indian expatriate. The expatriate later died by suicide.
Security officials said they were alerted to a report that a man had stabbed a woman multiple times at her sponsor's home in Al Farwaniyah governorate, south of Kuwait City. The man then killed himself.
The Kuwaiti sponsor told police that he was surprised that the expatriate had entered his house with a knife and stabbed his Filipina worker to death. The expatriate then tried to kill himself.
The man was taken to a hospital in Al Farwaniyah, where he died from the injuries he had inflicted on himself.
“Medics and police arrived at the citizen’s house and found the girl a lifeless body,” the source said.
A worker at a dyeing workshop near the crime scene was suspected of killing the Filipina maid. The murder weapon was found at the scene, but the motive for the crime is still unknown.
