India won against New Zealand by four wickets at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Indian 2023 on Sunday, Oct. 22.

India won with 274 runs, outdoing New Zealand's 273 runs.

Virat Kohli came close to tying a record for the most one-day internationals (ODI), held by Sachin Tendulkar with 49.

Nonetheless, Kohli now has 69 ODI half-centuries. 

The victory was India's fifth straight win and now, it tops the World Cup tournament table. New Zealand ranks second after its first loss in the tournament.

Mohammed Shami led to New Zealand's defeat as it lost six wickets for 68 runs in the last 13 overs. He was named Man of the Match for his performance. 

It was Kohli's 78-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja, which helped India defeat New Zealand. 

India's next World Cup match will be against England on Sunday, Oct. 29.
