South African coach and former cricketer Herschelle Gibbs will coach the Kuwaiti national men's cricket team for the upcoming Gulf Cricket T20 Championship and International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup qualifiers.
Gibbs was the first cricketer to hit six consecutive sixes in one over in a One Day International (ODI) against the Netherlands during the 2007 Cricket World Cup.
The tournaments in which Kuwait's team will participate in will take place in Doha, Qatar as they will be hosted by Qatar's Cricket Association.
All participating teams will arrive in Qatar's capital on Sep. 13.
Gibbs has previously worked with Kuwait's team as he spent five months as their head coach in 2018 and helped them qualify for the final leg of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia qualifiers.
Kuwait's cricket team will have a match against Saudi Arabia on Sep. 15 as part of the Gulf championship.
Kuwait's cricket board is ecstatic to have Gibbs as coach of the national cricket team and they hope his mentorship will push the team towards success!
